Future PSG stadium: in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, opponents denounce a project from the “old world”

A local collective is standing up against the idea of hosting a "PSG Land" in the immediate vicinity of the natural area of the leisure island. Their petition has gathered more than 10,000 signatories, while the urban area is making eyes at the club in the event that it leaves the Parc des Princes.
By Virginie WéberIt was an advertising campaign that lit the fuse. Last December, the urban community of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (SQY) offered itself a full-page advertisement in the newspaper "L'Équipe". With a catchy slogan "SQY has no limit", a play on words inspired by "Sky has no limit". Readers of the sports daily could also read a clear sentence: "What better place than Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines to host the future PSG stadium? "
Three months later, an online petition launched by a group of around fifteen associations has collected over 10,500 signatures. Added to this is the rejection of the project by elected officials and community councillors. All the protesters have the same argument at their heart: the construction of "PSG Land", in the event that the club leaves the Parc des Princes in Paris , cannot be considered next to a Natura 2000 zone.
